Mario Vargas Llosa
This writer, whose full name is Jorge Mario Perdo Vargas Llosa, is a writer, politician, journalist, and essayist. He is considered on of South America's most significant novelists, and a leading author of his time. Many people believe he had the greatest impact world wide of all the writers of the Latin American boom. Vargas came to great fame during the 1960's with his prolific writing of novels such as "The Time of the Hero", "The Green House," and "Conversation in the Catherdral." His popular novels are generally the genres of Comedy, Murder Mystery, History, and Political thrillers. A few of his popular movies were even adapted in to films, such as Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter. Many of his works were developed based on his perception of Peru, and his experience as a Native of Peru. Vargas Llosa has also been extremly active in the politics of Peru. At first he supported Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolutionary government, but his ideals have become more conservative
